Julie Gichuru is one of the most acclaimed media personalities in Kenya . She is a News Anchor, as well as a lawyer, Business Manager, CEO, a Talk Show Host and activist.

She is the first African woman to receive the Martin Luther King Salute to Greatness Award for Advocacy of Active Non-Violence and Peace during the post-election violence in Kenya in 2008.

She is a member of the Africa Leadership Initiative, which is part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and joined the Leadership following an invitation by Rania of Jordan. Julie has been declared a Young Global Leader under the World Economic Forum. She also serves on the Africa Advisory Board for MYC4. 

Julie is one of the most powerful African women, according to Forbes. She launched a campaign following the Horn of Africa crisis that raised money for Somali refugee camps in Kenya. In addition, she’s also an avid women’s right activist and a spokesperson for Women Against Domestic Violence in Kenya and UNICEF for breastfeeding campaign.
